A Firm Foundation | Your Guide to Undergarments

“How firm a foundation” aren’t just words sung on Sunday in a hymn. The foundations we wear under our clothes are pretty important – especially for women.  They give us good, uplifting support that we need every day.

I asked the wonderful Deborah Croisant, owner of Muse Intimates, for a few suggestions on what to consider when purchasing a new bra, or as Bette Milder so aptly sang in the movie, Beaches, an over the shoulder boulder holder.

A few tips:

  • Have your bra professionally fitted. Up to 80 percent of us are walking around in the wrong size!
  • If those pesky straps are slipping off your shoulders, it’s time for a new bra.
  • Don’t wear the same bra more than two days in a row – they should be washed after the second wear.
  • If you’re wearing a white bra under a white shirt, go with a nude one instead.

Did you know the right bra can make you look like you’ve lost as much as 10 lbs.?  That’s pretty uplifting, wouldn’t you agree?

Keep your foundation strong and you’ll always be supported!
