When deciding on a hair color, there are a few things to keep in mind, like maintenance, longevity and your skin tone. Everyone has a slightly different skin tone, and not every hair color works with every skin tone. But don’t worry – we’ll help you figure out the best color for you!
To determine your skin tone, use natural light and look at the inside of your wrist. If the veins appear blue in color you have a cool skin tone, if they appear turquoise to green you have a warm skin tone. If the veins appear colored in between the two you have a neutral skin tone.
Cool Skin Tone – Warm colors work best.
Warm Skin Tone – Cool colors work best.
Neutral Skin Tone – Cool, warm, or neutral tones will work.
Basically, you need to pick complementary colors from your skin tone to neutralize it. To find complementary colors, look at the image below.
