Scholarship Opportunity by Massage Envy

One $1000 scholarship available each month.

Eligibility:
US Citizen or Permanent Resident, Eligible to work in the US
Must be at least 18 years of age
No felonies related to a sexual or violent nature
Enrolled in the Massage Therapy program at Clary Sage College at least 90 days
Maintain a 3.5 GPA and 95% attendance record

Essay Criteria:
Minimum of 1000 words, describe your passion for massage therapy and future career. Describe your career and personal goals that will be accomplished.

2. How many times can I submit an application for scholarship?

Once a student is awarded a scholarship from this fund they are no longer eligible to re-apply

If a student applies and is not awarded a scholarship, that student is eligible to reapply up to two additional times for a total of up to 3 applications, the same essay may not be used for each application

3. Can this scholarship be used to receive excess fund?

No.

6. How are scholarship recipients chosen?

A numeric grading scale is used to evaluate each essay. Each essay is graded by Massage Envy

Massage Envy will not be allowed to know the name of the person applying until the winning essay has been chosen and submitted to Community HigherEd

If, during any given month that there is not at least three applications submitted there will be no award that month. The applications that are received will be resubmitted the following month. If for any reason a scholarship is not awarded due to low applications, the following month that has the minimum requirements of submissions will award the previous month’s award as well as the regularly scheduled award.

If student applying has any questions the Department Head for Massage Therapy will field those questions.

Levels:

Scale of 1-10 points

Level 1: Criteria does not meet expectations, reflects poorly on expected academic performance and very little likelihood of program completion

1-2 points

Level 2: Criteria barely meets expectations, reflects minimal potential for academic performance and minimal likelihood of program completion

3-4 points

Level 3: Criteria meets expectations, reflects positively on potential for academic performance and adequate likelihood of program completion

5-6 points

Level 4: Criteria exceeds expectations, reflects positively on potential for academic success, likelihood for successful completion, and success in chosen field upon graduation

7-8 points

Level 5: Criteria exceeds expectations, reflects strong academic ability, demonstrates significant drive, leadership, and exceptional ability to demonstrate CARES
