CARES Culture and What It Means to Us

Around here, we live by a motto that Community Higher Ed CARES (for those that don’t know, Clary Sage College is a branch campus of Community Higher Ed).

We’ve heard it, but do we really know what it means? Do we sit with it and let it change us?

We think these principles are so worth repeating, so here’s a refresher course in CARES.

The C in CARES stands for “Courtesy.”

By being kind and courteous to other, you can make a little change in someone’s day, that makes an impact, that leads to a change in the world!

A represents “Accountability.”

Blame can be a very easy defense mechanism, but often even when we are blaming others our actions played a part in what went wrong. Holding ourselves accountable to our actions is something in which we fully believe.

R means “Respect.”

Respect other people’s feelings. Even if it does not mean anything to you, it could mean everything to them.

E is for “Excellence.”

At Clary, we strive to provide our students with the most excellent of education available.

The S stands for “Success.”

By following all the letters of CARES, you can be successful in your everyday life!
