The fashion students at Clary Sage have been working diligently for the past several months creatingvarious works of art to enter into an annual event that The Fashion Group International organization sponsors every April for college students all over the nation to showcase their incredible talent.
The Career Day Event is held at the Dallas Apparel Mart in downtown Dallas and and offers a wonderful opportunity for fashion students to attend a multitude of seminars all geared towards a career in the fashion industry. The organizers do a fantastic job inviting speakers from around the globe to share their life experiences in everything from apparel designing and production to fashion journalism and trend forecasting. The networking at this event is invaluable, there are hundreds of potential employers hoping to meet the newest fashionistas.
The day wraps up with a professional fashion show that displays the students creations they have eagerly submitted into categories such as: fashion illustration, Costume, Bridal, Menswear, Cocktail, Little Red Dress and Daywear. All entries are judged by members of FGI and capable of winning a variety of cash prizes and scholarships, the most exciting prize is a full ride to The Fashion Institute in Paris, France.
I am so proud of the work our students have produced. We have over a dozen entries and each and every one of them is a true piece of art.
