How To: Patchwork Doll Makeup

Guys, Halloween is in a little over 2 weeks. Do you know what you’re going to be? The Makeup Artistry department at Clary Sage College let me hang out with them and showed me how to create this beautiful patchwork doll look, just in time!

Step 1. Apply foundation. For this look try using a foundation a shade or two lighter than your natural skin tone. This will give you a porcelain look.
Step 2. Apply a white translucent powder to help set your foundation and give you a more polished base.
Step 3. Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. We used a light, cheery pink color.
Step 4. Contour your face along your hair line, on the bridge of your nose and along your cheek bones with a natural color to add definition.
Step 5. Apply eyeshadow. Start on the base of your lid and blend up towards your brow. We chose a light pink, but you could choose any lighter shade to achieve this look.
Step 6. Eyebrows. Grab an eyebrow pencil close to the shade of your natural brow. Follow the natural shape of your brow, adding a little more definition and boldness.
Step 7.  Apply white eyeliner underneath your eyes. This opens up your eyes, making them look bigger.
Step 8. It’s time for eyeliner! We used a liquid liner with a thin eyeliner brush to deliver sleek, bold lines. We made a slight cat eye and then added another line, creating a double cat eye, if you will.
Step 9. Apply a base coat of mascara on your top lashes only.
Step 10. It’s time for false eyelashes! Apply the glue to the base of the false lashes. Take the strip of lashes and apply it to the base of your natural lashes. We used tweezers to make it a little easier. Keep your eyes closed for about 30 seconds to let the glue partially dry before opening,
Step 11. While your lashes are still drying you can do your lips. Trace around your cupids bow creating a heart shape with your bottom lip with the lip liner of your choice.
Step 12. Fill in your cupids bow heart with the lip liner and then add a gloss to give it some shine.
Step 13. Now that your top lashes are completely dry, you can apply your bottom lashes. We applied individual false lashes to the outer corners of the eyes, but you can easily use the strips, just cut them in half and apply on the outer corners of your eye.
Step 14. Blend your top lashes into your fake lashes with mascara.
Step 15. Decide where you want to create your patches and draw them on with colored eyeliner.
Step 16. Embellish your patches with lines, dots, diamonds, hearts etc.. and you’re done!
So cute, right?  I learned from the pros, but you don’t have to be a pro to complete this look. Let us know if you give it a try, we’d love to see your patchwork doll creations!
